The management and entire family of Ego Bekee Football Academy are filled with joy today as we join well-wishers across Nigeria, the United States, and beyond to celebrate the 51st birthday of our esteemed Founder, Mazi Ndubuisi Udenyi, widely and affectionately known in football circles as Ego Bekee.
Born on July 19th, Mazi Ndubuisi Udenyi has spent the last five decades building a legacy of discipline, mentorship, and excellence — a legacy that today lives on through the hundreds of young footballers passing through the gates of the academy that bears his name.
Who Is Mazi Ndubuisi Udenyi (Ego Bekee)?
Mazi Ndubuisi Udenyi is a certified USA-based athlete and football instructor whose passion for the game and for youth development led him to found the Ego Bekee Football Academy in 2022. Known simply as “Ego Bekee” to players, parents, and partners, he has built a reputation as more than a coach — he is regarded by many within the academy as a mentor, a father figure, and a “builder of men.”
Under his leadership, Ego Bekee Football Academy has grown from a single training ground into a Pan-African sports initiative with junior academies strategically located in Arochukwu, Enugu, and the United States, welcoming young football talents aged 4 to 15 in the Junior Boys program and players aged 16 to 21 in the Senior Boys category.
A Vision Rooted in “Catch Them Young”
From the outset, Mazi Ndubuisi Udenyi’s mission has been clear: to provide a supportive and structured platform for young people who dream of a career in football but lack the resources or guidance to begin that journey. His guiding philosophy — “catch them young, breed them, and prepare them for the future” — has shaped every training program, partnership, and coaching decision at the academy.
This vision has translated into real partnerships, including collaborations with Broadoaks British School, the University of Lagos Sporting Complex, and Holy Ghost College, giving young athletes access to elite coaching standards and structured development pathways within a professional football environment.
The academy’s motto, “Train. Transform. Triumph,” captures the essence of what Mazi Ndubuisi Udenyi set out to achieve: not just producing footballers, but shaping disciplined, well-rounded individuals equipped for life on and off the pitch.
Building a Team of Excellence
Part of Mazi Ndubuisi Udenyi’s legacy is the caliber of professionals he has drawn around him to run Ego Bekee Football Academy. The academy’s leadership team includes Juliana Onyinyechi Akabueze, a former Nigeria Falconet goalkeeper (1st Under-19, Canada 2002) and ex-professional player for Arsenal Ladies, Southwark Town FC, and Crystal Palace Ladies in the United Kingdom, who now serves as Overseer Coordinator. The academy’s financial operations are managed by Engr. Onunekwu Okechukwu Felix, Chief Accountant, whose engineering background brings precision and structure to the academy’s day-to-day running.
Together, this team has helped Mazi Ndubuisi Udenyi turn a personal vision into an institution with global ambitions — one that continues to expand its reach across Africa and beyond.
